Regulation 8A governing permanent registration of merchant bankers was omitted with effect from 8 December 2016. The omitted framework allowed eligible merchant bankers to apply in Form A before expiry of initial or existing registration, subject to payment of a non-refundable fee, disclosure of changes in previously submitted information, and a declaration of no undisclosed changes. Applications were processed as fresh initial-registration applications, and eligible applicants could receive a permanent registration certificate in Form B subject to applicable Schedule II fees.
