Thresh Hold limit

Deepak Whorra

Dear Experts,

A simple question :

In general , for sales  of products by cheque/RTGS/Credit Cards, is there any thresh hold value above which one has to obtain the Pan No. of the buyer ? I am asking this question as it pertains to products other than those mentioned in Section 206C.

Guidance on PAN Requirement for Sales Transactions via Cheque, RTGS, or Credit Cards for Non-Section 206C Products An individual inquired about the threshold value for sales transactions via cheque, RTGS, or credit cards that necessitates obtaining the buyer's PAN, specifically for products not covered under Section 206C. The response advised that obtaining the PAN is generally recommended for all transactions as it serves as a proof of identity. (AI Summary)
