Engineering firm questions need for extra endorsement on duty-free goods under Notification No. 33/2012-Central Excise. An engineering manufacturing company supplied goods to a party holding a Status Holder Incentive Scrip without paying duty, as per Notification No. 33/2012 - Central Excise. The party provided a copy of the scrip and duty debit details, signed by a Customs Superintendent. However, the party requested an additional signature and stamp from the company's range officer. The company seeks clarification on whether this additional endorsement is mandatory. A respondent advised reviewing specific paragraphs of the notification for guidance on the requirement of an Excise Superintendent's signature. (AI Summary)
