Filing Late: Individual Cannot Submit Revised Income Tax Return After Demand Notice for Assessment Year 2011-12 An individual mistakenly filed a nil income tax return for the assessment year 2011-12, omitting deductions and exemptions. After submission, the tax authority issued a demand notice for Rs. 1570, including interest. The individual inquired whether a revised return could be filed post-demand notice. A Chartered Accountant responded, stating that since the return was filed late, submitting a revised return is not possible. (AI Summary)
