Dear Sir,

What is EST Return kindly give information about it.

Combined Excise and Service Tax return introduced as a single EST1 filing to consolidate excise and service tax reporting obligations. Combined Excise and Service Tax return is a unified filing mechanism using a single prescribed form referred to as EST1 to consolidate reporting and payment obligations of excise and service taxpayers; a draft was published for stakeholder comment and administrative guidance issued via a departmental communication and annexure, and the EST return is distinct from employer social security (ESI/ESIC) returns. EST return is simplified "EXCICE SERVICE TAX RETURN" which is proposed in budget 2012 and a draft of the same is available on www.cbec.gov.in for comments. It is a common return to both Central Excise and SErvice tax registration holders.
