Guidance on Copper Scrap Processing: Use Notification No. 214/86-C.E. for Compliance; Proper Register Entries Required A manufacturer of copper products inquired about the appropriate notification number and rules for processing copper scrap into raw materials. The response advised using Notification No. 214/86-C.E., dated 25.3.1986, with amendments. It was clarified that entries in the RG1 register should only occur after all processes, such as packing, testing, and inspection, are completed. The processed goods should first be recorded in the job work register. For excise purposes, the returned copper cathodes, wires, or strips are not considered raw materials and should not be entered in Form IV/RG23a Part I register. (AI Summary)
