about taking credit of addl.duty on imported machinery.

MEHUL ASHAR

Respected sir,

Can I take 100% credit of addl.duty of the imported machinery in this financial year or I have to take 50% this year & remaining in the next year.

Manufacturers can claim 100% credit of additional duty on imported machinery in the year of receipt. A query was raised regarding the eligibility to claim 100% credit of additional duty on imported machinery within the same financial year. The response clarified that the entire credit of the additional duty can indeed be claimed in the year the imported capital goods are received at the manufacturer's factory. (AI Summary)
