about taking credit on the parts of machinery

MEHUL ASHAR

Respected Sir,

I have taken 50% credit of addl.duty of imported parts of machinery previous month ,now can I take the remaining credit in this month of march-2012

CENVAT credit on additional import duty allows full adjustment of the SAD portion within the first financial year. Query whether remaining CENVAT credit on additional duty (SAD) for imported machinery parts may be taken in a later month. The advisory reply states that CENVAT credit on the SAD portion may be availed 100% within the first financial year, allowing adjustment of any balance credit during that year. (AI Summary)
