Mandaba keeper tax

krish supramanian

Dear sir,

I am having a Kalyana mandabam and a shopping in a single building.

I have leased the ground floor to my younger daughter and first floor to my elder daughter and also receiving a lease rent from both of my daughters.. My daughters are separately renting both floors for parties and collecting rent separately and filing returns separately.

The vessels needed for the function is provided by another party. The chairs and tables needed are arranged by another party.

Totally five different returns for a single Mandabam is correct or not. Is any business violence?. Please clarify in Income tax and service tax part.

Leasing Building with Kalyana Mandabam: Separate Tax Returns and Registrations Required for Daughters Renting Out Floors. A user inquired about the tax implications for leasing a building with a Kalyana mandabam and shopping area to their daughters, who rent out the floors separately for events. The daughters file separate tax returns, while other parties provide necessary items like vessels, chairs, and tables. The query sought clarification on whether filing five different returns for a single property was correct and if it constituted any business violation. The response advised that the daughters should obtain separate service tax registrations under Mandap Keeper Service, collect taxes from customers, and that suppliers should also manage their tax obligations independently. Reply for Service Tax part:-

1-Your daughters have to seek separate service tax registration under Mandap Keeper Service, collect value & tax from customers on full amount. No abatement is allowed. Rs.10 lacs exemption under Notification No. 6/2005-ST dtd. 01.03.2005 is available subject to fulfil the condiions.

2-The suppliers of Chairs, Tables & other services may raise separate bill to their customer, collect value & tax & deposit it separately after obtaining service tax registration.

3-If amount of vendors are also collected by your daughters, then whole amount is taxable.
