Central excise registration: premise continuity permits existing registration with departmental intimation; separate premises require new registration. Central excise registration is premises-based: expansions within the same contiguous premises may remain under the existing registration with departmental intimation, while non-attached or separate premises require a separate registration. Adjacency and factual connection determine whether incorporation into an existing registration is possible; operators should notify the department with the existing registration number when purchasing additional land and apply to incorporate adjoined premises, ensuring duty payment and compliance when commencing production. You need to provide the intimation to the Department that your company has purchased the land for Future expansions by mentioning the existing registration number on the intimation letter.  This would be suffice in the matter.

Pardeep Sir,

Is registration under central excise not related to a particular premises? Also, if new premises not attached to the old, then we have to apply for new registration. Pls clear.

YAGAY andSUN on Dec 12, 2011

If new premises is not attached to old one then separate registration is must.  Further, it will also be determined on the facts that wheter two factory premises are adjacent or not.

if planing expansion is in the same premises and same door and servey no it is not required

if it is some other no. adjoined to this premises you have to incorporate the new premises in your registration. y need no wait until thier permission. just y can applay for incorporation and start produce in that premises by paing duty. tks
