dear sir

please clearify the difrence between  adjurned and postpon meeting  as per companies act

Understanding Adjourned vs. Postponed Meetings: Key Differences Under the Companies Act Explained A query was raised regarding the difference between adjourned and postponed meetings under the Companies Act. The response clarified that an adjournment occurs due to statutory requirements, such as a lack of quorum, leading to the meeting being rescheduled to the same day, time, and place the following week. In contrast, a postponement is a deliberate decision by the board of directors, necessitating a new notice with updated details like date, venue, time, and business agenda. (AI Summary)

Adjournment of a meeting is a statutory adjournment in some specific circumstances e.g. for want of quoram a meeting may stand adjourned to the same day, at the same time and place in the next week.

Postponement of a meeting is based on a consceious decision of board of directors, in that case notice of postponement and new date, venue, time, business etc. as circumstances may require are to be issued.
