Customs Valuation Debate: Officials Urged to Consider Quantity in Price Determination, Follow Section 14 and Valuation Rules. A discussion was initiated regarding the customs valuation rules for NIDB data, where customs officials were attempting to impose a higher valuation based on previous shipment values despite a significant increase in import quantity. The initial shipment was 1 kg valued at 550/kg, while the current shipment is 100 kgs valued at 180/kg. A response highlighted that customs should not blindly apply NIDB data for valuation, as quantity is a crucial factor in determining price. It was advised that valuation should adhere to section 14 and relevant valuation rules, supported by case law. (AI Summary)
