Clarification Issued: Rule 33/2005 Requires Only 5% Reversal for Central Excise, Not 5.15% Total A query was raised regarding the reversal percentage under rule 33/2005 in the context of Central Excise. The question was whether the reversal should be a flat 5% or if it should include additional percentages, totaling 5.15%. The response clarified that only a 5% reversal is required, as it pertains to the 'amount' and not the duty of excise. (AI Summary)

You would have to reverse only 5% as it is 'amount' not the duty of excise.
