is vat is applicable on sale of imported goods

ajimuddin shaik

is vat is applicable on sale of imported goods

VAT on imported goods remains payable, with potential customs-notification relief when goods are sold in the same condition. VAT is applicable to the sale of imported goods. If the goods are removed by the seller 'as such,' the seller may claim the benefit of the customs notification, subject to the notification's conditions and procedural compliance. (AI Summary)

The obvious answer is Yes. But you can claim the benefit of Notification no. 102/2007-customs in this regards, if the goods are removed by you as such.
