Guest

R/Sir

Any recent changes in duty rates in the budget 2011 - 12.

Basically I am working in food industry are their any changes - is ready to eat product charged duty in this budget, if so what are the changes. Pls provide me the notification and details.

Regards

S  B Devale

Excise duty increase for certain items; peak duty rate left unchanged under the budget's changes. Budget change confined to upward revision of excise duty for items previously charged at the lower specified rate to a higher specified rate, with the peak duty rate remaining unchanged; applicability to food industry products, including ready to eat items, depends on whether they had been subject to the lower rate now increased. There is no change in Peak Rate of Duties.

Only the items having the ED 4% is changed to 5%.
