GANAPATHY PADMANABHA SARMA
One of my client who is a doctor is running a clinic for cosmetology.  If his receipts exceeds Rs.10,00,000/- whether he is liable to pay service tax.
Doctor's Cosmetic Clinic Faces Service Tax if Annual Receipts Exceed Rs.10,00,000 for Beautification Surgeries. A doctor running a cosmetology clinic inquires about service tax obligations if receipts exceed Rs.10,00,000. Responses indicate that services related to cosmetic and plastic surgery for beautification purposes are taxable under the 'Cosmetic Surgery or Plastic Surgery Service' category. If the services provided fall under this category, the doctor would be liable to pay service tax. (AI Summary)

Please go through the Service "Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery". If the exact nature of services fall in the various categories provided therein, then your client would become taxable.
