Advance Tax Challan

Guest
While filling the advance tax challan, whether we need to write the entire amount in Income Tax coloumn or to treat the whole amount as 30.90 and write for both tax (30) and cess (0.90)
Advance tax challan entry: report the full payable amount in the Income Tax column unless bifurcation is needed for allocation. The prevailing advisory view is that the full payable amount on an advance tax challan may be entered in the Income Tax column without splitting into tax and cess components. An alternative view recommends bifurcating tax and cess on the challan because the distribution between central and state shares differs for each component. (AI Summary)

In our view, you can write the entire amount in Income Tax column only.

In income tax column of the form the entire amount is to be written. No treatment of 30:90 is needed. Whole amount of income shall be written in income tax column.

Better to bifurcate.... as the Central & State distribution is different for both components!!!
