Personal Tax - Selection of Wrong Asst. Year

Rajan Komanduri
Dear Sir, I have paid the Personal Income Tax for the Asst. year 2009-10 as tax on regular assessment instead of for the Asst. year 2010-11 as self assessment tax. Please advice how to rectify the same. Rajan
Submit Rectification Application to Correct Tax Payment Error for Assessment Year 2009-10; File for 2010-11 Instead. An individual mistakenly paid personal income tax for the assessment year 2009-10 as tax on regular assessment instead of for the assessment year 2010-11 as self-assessment tax. To rectify this error, it is advised to submit an application for rectification of the mistake to the Assessing Officer (AO). (AI Summary)
