HR Management Services

sathyanarayanan kasinathan
Received an invoice that read 'Professional Fees for referral of candidate' by a HR Management Services company, and the same didnt contain Service tax. Any idea how service tax is not levied, assuming turnover exceeds 10 lakhs.
Service tax applicability on HR referral fees questioned where invoice omits tax; seek explanation from the service provider. Whether service tax applies to fees billed as 'professional fees for referral of candidate' by an HR management services provider when the invoice omits any service tax, and the recommended step is to ask the supplier directly why tax was not charged to determine if the omission reflects exemption, non-applicability, or incorrect invoicing. Instead of assumptions and presumptions, I suggest you that ask from the service provider directly, that why he has not charged service tax on the Invoice. If he is ignorant of law, please guide him!
