An NRI taxpayer has been experiencing delays in receiving income tax refunds for the assessment years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, despite submitting the required TDS certificates to the Assessing Officer (AO). The taxpayer is seeking advice on whether to file a complaint with higher authorities due to the prolonged delay. One respondent suggests personally following up with the AO for a timely resolution, while another recommends approaching an ombudsman or filing an RTI application for assistance. (AI Summary)
