pardeep bisht

Dear Sir,we have to import lub. oil in the packing of 200Ltr Drum for trading to service stations not to industry. In this regard please confirm:- 1-Is MRP is applicable on the same or not? 2.And what will be the duty calculation on both either it is under MRP or not? Matter is very urgent please confirm with your valuable views and also confirm about rules/section/nott./circular etc. for the same.

Import of Lubricating Oil: MRP Application and Duty Calculation Explained Under Section 4A of Central Excise Act A query was raised regarding the import of lubricating oil in 200-liter drums for trading to service stations, questioning whether the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) applies and how duty should be calculated. The response clarified that the item is specified under the Standards of Weight and Measurement Act and section 4A of the Central Excise Act. It was advised that Countervailing Duty (CVD) should be paid based on the MRP at the time of import, as the goods are sold in their original packaging. (AI Summary)
