ITR1 filing for private employee

Satya

I am trying to file the ITR-1

it is showing total tax paid is 7,76,773 and refund is 7,76,770 tax liability as 0. Why it is showing the refund as the same amount as the tax paid. Please clarify very few days left for filing.

Why ITR-1 shows ?7,76,770 refund nearly equal to ?7,76,773 paid: excess TDS/advance tax credits, check Form 26AS A taxpayer filing ITR-1 reports total tax paid of ?7,76,773, tax liability ?0 and a refund of ?7,76,770, and asks why the refund roughly equals the tax paid. Likely causes: prefilled TDS/advance tax credits exceed computed tax, producing a refund equal to paid less any small rounding or adjustment (here ?3). Recommend verifying Form 26AS and the tax computation details (TDS, advance tax, self-assessment payments, surcharge/cess), check if prefilled values or rounding rules created the ?3 difference, correct any data entry errors before e-filing, and contact the tax portal/CPC if records don't match.
