E-Invoicing Turnover ₹ 20 Crore w.e.f.01.04.2022

Dear Experts!

Warm Greetings!

As you all are aware that E-Invoicing is mandatory on turnover now extended to 20.00 Crore with effect from 1st April,2022.

If the turnover of GTA during the current financial year exceeds ₹ 20.00 crores, whether the GTA need to issue e-invoicing on LR even though the consignor (customers of GTA) of the goods issues the E-Invoice to consignee on regular basis?

Kindly clarify the issues.

E-Invoicing Exemption for Goods Transport Agencies: No Requirement for Unregistered GTAs Even if Turnover Exceeds 20 Crore A discussion on a forum addressed the mandatory e-invoicing requirement for businesses with a turnover exceeding 20 crore, effective from April 1, 2022. A user inquired whether Goods Transport Agencies (GTA) need to issue e-invoices if their turnover crosses this threshold, despite consignors already issuing e-invoices. Responses clarified that GTAs are exempt from e-invoicing for services related to road transportation of goods and passenger transport, provided they are not registered. The user later confirmed understanding these exemptions after reviewing an article by Dr. M. Govindarajan. (AI Summary)
