Time limit for claiming ITC

VIGNESH

Sir, what was the time limit for claiming ITC for F.yr:2017-18, 2018-19,2019-2020.

Time limit for claiming input tax credit: deadline falls in the October after the financial year, limited prior relaxation applied. Input tax credit for a financial year must be availed by the deadline in the subsequent financial year, commonly treated as 20th October following that year. A Removal of Difficulties Order extended the deadline for 2017-18 into 2019, but no similar extension was granted for 2018-19 or 2019-20, so the standard post-year deadline applied to those later years. Dear Sir,

ITC can be availed for a particular Financial year on or before of 20th October of Subsequent Financial year.

For Example: ITC pertains to FY 2017 - 2018 to be availed on or before of 20th October 2018

KASTURI SETHI on Nov 18, 2021

For the year 2017-18, ITC could be availed by 20.4.19. Relaxation was granted vide Central Goods and Services Tax (Second Removal of Difficulties) Order, 2018 issued by CBIC vide Order No. 2/2018-C.T., dated 31-12-2018.

No such relaxation was granted for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20.
