E Invoice and E way bill

Whether reference of E invoice is compulsory on e way bill...

There are two ways where i can generate E way bill one is by logging in to E way bill website and second one is through NIC website. When e way bill is generate through NIC website then details are autopopulated in e way bill through E invoice being Unique number.And when we generate E way bill through NIC then on e way bill we get refernce of E invoice too...

Second doubt :Whether mentioning e way bill details on Invoice compulsory

Yes.. you can generate e way bill either way... law does not mandate.
