GST REGISTRATION

VIRENDER KUMAR

Sir,

Please suggest if I apply new registration on one building and on that building 3 other parties also registered if any issue for new registration .

GST registration: multiple registrants at the same premises permitted if distinct demarcation and address identifiers are used. GST registration permits multiple registrants at the same building where registrations represent genuine distinct taxable persons; the operative requirement is clear demarcation of premises and use of distinct address identifiers so each registrant can be separately identified for compliance and administrative purposes. Registration can be taken by more than one person in one building. Assuming it is a genuine case

Yes, GST registration can be obtained.

I agree with the experts. Demarcation for identification of all the premises is an absolutely must.

Dear Virender,

Co-working space is the new trend, and a lot of startups are following the same.

Caveat: Just demarcate the spaces with a different assigned number. And try to use such demarcation in the address. So, if the authority denies registration, you will have a ground to establish that you are a different entity. For instance, if the building has 5 co-working spaces, then make it 1/5 Address or A-E Address or whatever deems fit.
