Dynamic Q R Code for B2C Supplies

Prakash and Thiagarajan

Is dynamic QR code for B2C supplies mandatory (without penalty) effective 01.04.2021 for all companies having a turnover of more than 100 crores who are currently issuing e-invoice for B2B supplies? If so, could you please share the notification details.

Dynamic QR Code Requirement for B2C Supplies Under GST for Companies Over 100 Crores from April 2021 A discussion on the requirement of dynamic QR codes for B2C supplies under GST for companies with a turnover exceeding 100 crores, effective from April 1, 2021. The consensus is that penalties are waived if companies comply by this date. References are made to Notification No. 14/2020, 89/2020-CT, and Circular No. 146/02/2021-GST. Compliance is achieved if the invoice includes a dynamic QR code or if payment details are cross-referenced on the invoice when customers pay via credit/debit card, UPI, or cash. (AI Summary)

In the following cases, if the supplier has digitally displayed the Dynamic QR Code, the requirement will be said to be complied with, if-

The customer pays through credit/debit card or through UPI, and the supplier provides a cross-reference of these payment details on the invoice, such as the transaction ID, date, time, amount, and mode of payment.

The customer pays with cash, and the supplier provides a cross-reference of the date and amount details on the invoice.
