UNDER WRONG HEAD ITC CLAIM

Date 29 Dec 2020
Replies 1 Reply

Input Tax Credit classification error requires administrative unlocking of the return to reallocate credits via jurisdictional officer.
Taxpayer mistakenly claimed Input Tax Credit in GSTR-3B under 'Inward supplies from ISD' instead of 'All other ITC'; remedial action requires approaching the jurisdictional range officer or deputy/assistant commissioner to have the return defreezed so the credit entries can be reallocated to the correct table. (AI Summary)

in GSTR 3B for the month of Mar-2018, ITC (CGST & SGST) claimed under table 4A-(4) Inward supplies from ISD in the place of table 4A-(5) All other ITC,

how to rectify the mistake

1.

Meet jurisdictional GST Range Officer or Deputy Commissioner/Asst. Commissioner (In-charge-GST Division). Your problem can be solved. Return has to be defreezed and that is possible through Range or Deputy commissioner.
