MSME - Udyam registration

Mohideen A

We are a MSME Manufacturing unit under the erstwhile UAM/EM Part II and the registration is valid till 31.3.2021. The unit is taken over by another company and we are now a 100% subsidiary of that Holding company. The name of our company is undergoing a change and we continue with the existing line of business which is the manufacturing activity. We wish to understand the following

1) Whether subsidiary of a holding company can be a Udyam unit under the new notification No. 2119 ( E ) dated 26.6.2020?

2) If subsidiary can become a Udyam unit, then does it make a difference if the holding company is an Indian company or a Foreign company?

3) Whether the existing Registration already obtained, can be continued and an application be placed in the new portal for the change of name consequent to the change in the ownership of the Company?

4) Whether a fresh application should be made in the name of the new company consequent to the change in the Shareholding pattern of the Company?

Subsidiary Seeks Clarification on Udyam Registration Post Ownership Change; Queries on Name Update and Foreign Ownership Impact. A manufacturing unit, previously registered under UAM/EM Part II, is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of another company and seeks clarification on its Udyam registration status following a change in ownership and company name. The inquiries include whether a subsidiary can qualify as a Udyam unit under the new notification, if the holding company's nationality (Indian or foreign) affects this status, whether the existing registration can be updated for the name change, and if a new application is necessary due to the altered shareholding structure.
