Can we pay excise now as wrong credit was taken in earlier period?

Payment of excise dues permitted now; deposits via ACES accepted and may include interest obligations.
Taxpayers may deposit outstanding central excise liabilities arising from wrongly availed credits in prior periods through the ACES portal; deposits with applicable interest are accepted as a remedial measure. The ACES site remains open to accept Central Excise and Service Tax dues and to facilitate issuance of notices for pre-GST periods under extended limitation, so taxpayers should regularise past credits via the portal while accounting for interest and potential show-cause proceedings. (AI Summary)

Can we pay excise now under GST senerioa as wrong credit was taken in earlier period?

Otherwise also so many cases pertaining to pre-GST era are pending decision in the department and in various courts. Audit of the units of Central Excise and Service Tax is being conducted by the department. So the ACES site will continue to accept Govt. dues of Central Excise and Service Tax. The site will not be closed in near future.
