Clarification - co parceners

Rahul Bagaria

The Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005 (39 of 2005)says that women are to be treated as co parceners, need a clarification whether to treat them as member or coparceners

Women as coparceners confirmed, granting daughters the same coparcenary succession rights as sons under the succession regime. The Hindu Succession Act, 1956 does not define membership of a HUF; a statutory amendment establishes that daughters shall occupy the position of coparcener in the same manner as sons, thereby altering their proprietary status within the coparcenary and aligning their succession rights with those of male lineal heirs. I think, HINDU SUCCESSION ACT, 1956 as a whole does not specifies any terms such membership of HUF etc. After THE HINDU SUCCESSION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2005, women (daughter) become the coparcener like son.
