You may get Form 16 if TDS is deducted by the employer and in other cases you may get Form 16A and match it with Form 26AS for the year 2016 - 17.

IT department also sends an SMS on two occasion. One on a quarterly basis whenever emplyer files the TDS return. Second at the end of financial year indicating the total TDS deducted.
