Export of imported goods from Pakistan to Nepal

Pushpendra Sharma

Dear Sir,

Please clarify us as under:

1) We S.S. Overseas, Meerut, are importer and exporter. We want to know whether goods imported from Pakistan, can be exported to Nepal as per FTP 2015-20. If yes, we shall be allowed for exemption for custom duty as well IGST,

2) We are also planning to have a company in Nepal. Hence, please clarify whether a Nepal Company can use Indian Land Route for Import of goods from Pakistan or sea port also or both way are allowed to use.

With best regards,

Pushpendra Sharma

S.S. Overseas explores exporting Pakistani goods to Nepal under Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20; customs duty and IGST implications discussed. A company in Meerut, S.S. Overseas, inquired about exporting goods imported from Pakistan to Nepal under the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20, and whether they would be exempt from customs duty and IGST. They also asked if a Nepalese company could use Indian routes for imports from Pakistan. Respondents advised that transactions should be in foreign convertible currency and confirmed that both land and sea routes are possible. However, they noted potential banking challenges with setting off shipping bills for exports, suggesting careful bank selection and possible use of the Export Data Processing Monitoring System for transactions.
