Tax Query: No Additional Taxes on Digital Import of Designs Beyond 18% GST, Unless Royalties Involved A query was raised regarding the taxation on the non-physical import of designs and drawings through digital means, specifically if any taxes other than the 18% GST apply. Yagay and Sun responded that no additional taxes are required unless a royalty is involved, which would incur GST. Kasturi Sethi suggested consulting an expert, Kishan Barai, who confirmed that no other taxes are applicable. Dr. Mariappan Govindarajan agreed with Yagay and Sun's assessment. The discussion concluded with consensus on the tax implications. (AI Summary)

In our view there would not be any other tax. However, if any kind of royalty is being paid then GST on such royalty amount would be payable.

As far as I rembremer Sh.Kishan Barai, an expert in this field has already posted reply. Querist is requested to either contact him or trace out his reply in this forum.
