E way Bill Issuance

Rakesh Srivastava

I need to issue e way bill against an import shipment received through courier which got stuck at port due to some reasons, the Bill of Entry date is 03-10-2017 where as the shipment got cleared dt. 09-04-2018. While generating eway bill plz tell me which date to metion on the e way as the BOE Date is too old & the system is taking date till 10/10/2017 but not before that. Needs your valuable suggestion asap.

Confusion Over E-Way Bill Date for Import Shipment: Use Clearance Date as Goods Cross Customs Frontiers An individual inquired about issuing an e-way bill for an import shipment received via courier, which was delayed at the port. The Bill of Entry date was October 3, 2017, but the shipment was cleared on April 9, 2018. They sought advice on which date to use for the e-way bill, as the system only accepted dates from October 10, 2017, onwards. A respondent advised using the shipment clearance date, as it reflects when the goods crossed the customs frontiers. (AI Summary)
