Clarification sought on eligibility of buyer's credit for SEZ imports; consider written representation to Commerce and Finance Ministries. A query was raised regarding the eligibility of buyer's credit for imports from Special Economic Zones (SEZs), given that sales to Domestic Tariff Areas (DTAs) from SEZs are considered exports, and sales from DTAs to SEZs are deemed exports. The respondent explained that SEZs are treated as outside Indian jurisdiction to promote exports, and while other financial facilities are available to SEZ units, the issue of buyer's credit can be addressed by submitting a written representation to the Commerce and Finance Ministries.
