Amendment of TRAN-1 return

GOPAL CHOWDHURY

Dear Experts,

I need an advice regarding amendment of TRAN-1 return, as we have filed TRAN-1 in Nov and revised it once then submit it again, now we have to again amend the TRAN-1, but the reopen option is not available.

What can be done in this regard kindly let me know.

Revision of TRAN-1 returns: system allows only a single amendment, seek GST portal or jurisdictional officer assistance. TRAN-1 amendment is limited to a single revision; the GST system will not accept further re-uploads marked as 'return already filed' and no current provision permits additional re-revision. Taxpayers should seek assistance from the GST portal helpdesk or their jurisdictional tax officer for administrative intervention, as offline/manual submissions are unlikely to change the system-controlled filing status. Sir,

Even if you down load off-line tool and correct the return filed again you have to upload the return only through the system. The system will not accept the return with the remark 'return already filed'. The best way is to contact your jurisdiction Central Tax Officer /State Tax Officer seeking their help.

TRAN-1 is can be revised once which you have already done, the same is not subject to further revision.

TRAN-1 can be revised only once.

There is no provision at present to re-revise the TRAN-1 returns.

If you visit your jurisdictional tax office to submit manual TRAN 1, i doubt they will have access to amend the return based on your manual TRAN 1. The entire compliance is online. The chances are very bleak. However, you may try approaching the office and put your request. Since law is evolving and necessary changes are carried out. There seems rare chances that your plea can be heard. Thanks.

If you cantact via help section of GST portal, you will get good support & they will provide you option to edit & update details again if you want, this was happen in one of my case & I solved like that. Your jurisdiction has got powers to rectify your mistakes always.
