Drawback under INR Currency

kuldeep singh

Sir,

Can exporter get Duty drawback from customs for their exports shipment if the shipping bill currency is INR , for any destination , if yes , is there is any notification/circular regarding this ?

Exporters can claim duty drawback if payments are in foreign currency or INR via Vostro, per FTP 2015-20 Para 2.52. An exporter inquired about the eligibility for duty drawback on export shipments when the shipping bill currency is in INR. A respondent clarified that shipping bills can be raised in any currency, but payments must be realized in foreign currency or INR through a Vostro account, except for ACU member countries, Nepal, and Bhutan, referencing Para 2.52 of FTP 2015-20. Export benefits, including duty drawback or MEIS, are available. Another participant supported this view, while the original inquirer sought further information on any specific notifications or circulars regarding this matter. (AI Summary)
