SURYAKANT MITHBAVKAR

Merchant Exporter can export goods while charging concessional rate of 0.01% GST as per decision of GST Council in its 22nd Meeting held on 6th October,2017.

In view of the above merchant exporter can procure goods for export with full rate of GST or any concessional rate?

Concessional GST Rate for Exporters Pending Notification; Zero GST Possible with LUT for Exports. A merchant exporter inquired about the applicability of a concessional GST rate of 0.01% for exports as per the GST Council's decision from October 6, 2017. A response indicated that the necessary notification under the IGST Act had not yet been issued, and the concessional rate would apply only after its issuance. Another reply clarified that exporters could procure goods without GST payment against a Letter of Undertaking (LUT), allowing zero GST on exports. A further response sought clarification on the application of concessional rates of 0.1% and 0.05%. (AI Summary)
