Transport Business GST Guidance: Tax Rate, Collection, and Input Credit Explained for Freight Services A transport business owner in Kerala seeks guidance on the GST tax rate applicable to freight services and whether they can collect GST from service recipients. Responses indicate that if registered under GST, the business can collect and remit GST. The GST rate is 5% if no input credit is claimed on goods used, and 12% if input credit is claimed. If services are provided to a government-notified category, the recipient pays the tax; otherwise, the service provider pays. The discussion includes references to further reading and acknowledges the helpfulness of the responses. (AI Summary)
