User Faces Issues Filing ER1 Return on ACES Website; Advice Given to Contact Range Officer or Helpline for Help. A user reported issues with the aces.gov.in website while attempting to file an ER1 return, seeking assistance on its functionality. Respondents suggested contacting the jurisdictional Range officer or the ACES helpline and noted that such issues are routine, often occurring near filing deadlines. It was advised to document any system downtime to avoid penalties for late submission. The discussion also touched on the importance of not waiting until the last minute to file returns due to potential system traffic. A query about GST was raised, with one respondent admitting limited knowledge until further enactment. (AI Summary)

It is a routine matter. This site is held up for repair. Near the last date of filing return, snag occurs. If the snag is not removed on the last date, the department extends the last date of filing. Nothing to worry.

please put your comments in remark "return has been filed late due to system was not working from date ___ to ____" . to avoid latter on unnecessary late submission of return.

KASTURI SETHI on May 10, 2017

Sir,

It is warning for an assessee to be careful in future. One should not wait for last date. On the last date there is a heavy traffic and snag occurs in the ACES system. It happens every time. The Directorate of ACES issues reminder from the first date of due month even then people like to file return on the last date. I have one client who always submits data to me on last date and that too in the afternoon.
