Individual Faces 12,000 INR Customs Duty for US Wristwatch; Struggles with Lack of Payment Details and Online Options An individual from Pune purchased a wristwatch online from the US and later received a demand notice from the customs office in Mumbai, requesting a differential duty payment of approximately 12,000 INR. The individual is unsure how to make the payment, as the notice lacks payment details or contact information. Guidance from a forum suggests checking the ICEGATE website for online payment options, but customer service indicated that a physical visit to Mumbai might be necessary. The individual seeks advice on making the payment online due to work constraints preventing travel to Mumbai. (AI Summary)
