Amending Bill of Entry: Shipper's Invoice Changes Post-Departure Require New Filing and Duty Refund Application A user inquired about amending a prior bill of entry for an air shipment where the shipper changed the invoice details after the shipment departed. The amendments needed include an increase in the number of packages, an additional item, changes in gross weight, increased shipment value, and a new invoice number. Responses suggested filing a fresh bill of entry with amended documents and applying for a refund of the duty paid on the prior bill of entry, supported by documents proving the goods were not landed or manifested.
