How to Maintain Records of Return Material

Ajay Singh

Dear Sir,

as we are a manufacturing Proprietor Ship Firm at Haridwar (Uttarakhand). we have sold some Cosmetics Items to our Customer but after some Days the Customer is Sending Return Material.

so i want to know how to maintain this return Qty in RG1 Register. how to do.

Regards,

Ajay SIngh

Manufacturers advised to use Form V for tracking returned cosmetics; offers flexibility since RG1 Register is non-statutory. A manufacturing firm in Haridwar sought advice on maintaining records for returned cosmetics items in the RG1 Register. An expert suggested using Form V, a non-statutory register for recording duty-paid goods received back. Although Form V is no longer a statutory requirement, it is widely used by manufacturers for convenience and audit purposes. The discussion highlighted that Form V can be adapted for computer systems for better analysis. It was noted that both Form V and RG-1 Registers have been non-statutory since July 2000, allowing flexibility in their use for production accounting. (AI Summary)
