Clarification of VAT applicability on Fly ash bricks

Chinni RaviTej

Dear TIM,

i am opening a new business - Manufacturing & sales of FLY Ash bricks in Rajasthan state.

for this i need Raw material like fly ash, gypsum, lime powder & stone powder

Now i want to clarify that, is taxes are applicable on Raw material?

If Yes, on what items will be considered under taxation

and

is VAT & ST applicable for selling on bricks?

pls suggest me / reply me on [email protected]

VAT applicability on fly ash bricks and raw materials affirmed; specified inputs and bricks attract VAT while GST not payable. Goods and Services Tax is not payable. Value Added Tax applies under the Rajasthan VAT framework to fly ash, gypsum, lime powder, stone powder, and fly ash bricks, so VAT/sales tax obligations attach to these inputs and the finished bricks while GST is not treated as payable. On goods service tax is not payable.

Fly ash attracts 5.5%, Gypsum 5.5% also the same rate for lime powder and stone powder. Fly ash bricks also attracts 5.5% in Rajasthan VAT Act.
