Service tax registration

Madhur Mundhada

Dear sir/madam,

My query related with service tax act for registration purposes.

As i am registered my Sole proprietor firm in Service tax act and got my registration no. from department against my PAN no. and now i want toregister my another sole proprietorfirm in another name but against my same PAN no. i.e. same sole proprietor owner, which is already used in my earlier registration.

Shall i register or got registration certificate the same.

Can a Sole Proprietor Register Multiple Firms Under One PAN for Service Tax? Explore Options and Limitations. A discussion on a forum addresses whether a sole proprietor can register multiple firms under the same PAN for service tax purposes. One participant argues that it is not possible to register two firms under the same PAN. Others suggest it might be feasible if the firms operate in different jurisdictions or premises, but threshold benefits would not apply. Another participant mentions the necessity of a separate PAN for each business. The consensus leans towards either amending the existing registration for additional businesses or consulting relevant tax departments for confirmation. (AI Summary)
