DEAR EXPERTS,
WE HAD SUPPLY OUR FINAL PRODUCT TO OVERSEAS CUSTOMER, DUE TO SOME TECHNICAL DEFECT WE WILL PLAN TO RE-IMPORT THE FINAL PRODUCT AND AFTER RECTIFICATION WE WILL RE-EXPORT THE SAME.
AT THE TIME OF ORIGINAL EXPORT WE TAKE DRAWBACK AND MEIS.
MY QUESTION IS
WHAT IS PROCEDURE FOR RE-IMPORT OF FINAL PRODUCT?
CAN DRAWBACK AND MEIS PAYBACK? IF YES KINDLY SHARE WITH US PROCEDURE.

Re-importation procedure requires repayment of export incentives or bonded re-import to permit duty-free re-export. Re-importation of defective exported goods requires either repayment of export incentives (drawback and MEIS) to Customs for clearance, or use of the bonded re-processing route by executing the required security and complying with prescribed timelines to permit duty-free re-entry for repair and subsequent re-export. The importer must file the Bill of Entry as RE-Import, reference the original shipping bill, return export incentives, submit supporting documents to Customs, and complete re-export formalities after rectification.
