Annual return filing requirement relaxed: combined Central Excise and Service Tax return not required pending GST rollout.
The new format for central excise annual returns had not been notified as of late October 2016, with preparers urged to keep annual data ready. A Board circular dated November 8, 2016 states there is no requirement to file a combined annual return of Central Excise and Service Tax for the year in view of upcoming GST, and that annual returns for non-GST goods will be required only post-implementation subject to consultation with trade and industry. (AI Summary)

Dear Experts,

Please let me know whether the new format of annual returns to be filed under central excise by 30.11.2016 is available now. If yes, what is the notification number and date.

Regards,
