CAN WE ISSUE "C" FORM MONTHLY.....

Form C issuance: quarterly requirement under Central Sales Tax rules limits monthly issuance; compliance and registration required.
Form C is prescribed as the declaration under the Central Sales Tax rules and is to be issued/received quarterly rather than monthly. Form C must be submitted to the assessing authority before or at assessment, with interstate purchases and goods reflected in CST registration and statutory returns; revenue officers cross check return entries and amounts against Form C applications, and noncompliance can prevent receipt of Form C and attract penalties. (AI Summary)

Dear Sir,

My question :- Can we issue the "c" form monthly basis or not......

Kindly advise me as per law.

Regards

AMIT GUPTA

The provision states that form c shall be issued/ received quarterly. Hence it cannot be applied for on monthly basis.

Dear Amit,

The only reason for providing this Section 12 in detail was just to encourage you to read it thoroughly for enriching your knowledge for better compliance.

My additional views are:

The three months time period for issuing form c should be adhered to. The law states that the form should be submitted to the assessing authority before or at the time of assessment.

And also check the goods which is being procured by you must be incorporated well before in your CST Registration Certificate and filing of statutory returns according in prescribed time limit, otherwise, No C form can be received manually or generated online. Hefty penalty can also be imposed. So take care and do the due diligence in this matter to protect your company from any unwarranted situations.

The officer in the sales tax department cross checks the form c application filed by you with the return submitted by you. There should be interstate purchase appearing in the return and the amount in the return should be more than the amount in form c application.

Yes the type of item procured interstate need to be incorporated in the CST registration copy.
