Deletion of my details in partnership pan card

Guest

Hi, I started a company 3 years back as a partnership firm and gave my PAN and other cofounder PAN details for the Partnership Firm PAN card. We did not register the company. In a span of 15 months i retired from the partnership and reconstituted the deed. Recently i received a mail from IT department to file the returns (as i gave my mail id in joint PAN) . Kindly advice me how to remove my details from the PAN card and what is the procedure to do it.

Retired Partner Seeks Removal from Firm's PAN Card; Must File Returns or Update Authorization with Tax Department An individual who started a partnership firm three years ago seeks advice on removing their details from the firm's PAN card after retiring and reconstituting the partnership deed. They received a notice from the Income Tax Department to file returns, as their email was used for the joint PAN. The response advises that if the partnership deed allows for dissolution upon a partner's retirement, the individual should inform the department and file returns as the authorized person. If the partnership continues, the firm must update the authorization or notify the department of the individual's retirement with documentation. (AI Summary)
